Is this child just really irritable and the parent is just having trouble finding the right approach to manage their child’s temperament? Are these temper-tantrums pathognomonic of a psychiatric condition? At some point, you have likely asked or chances are very probable that you will be pondering these questions whether it is about a child you are treating/evaluating or are attempting to address concerns raised by an adult patient who is seeking your expertise about their child that is presenting in this manner.

Fortunately, for us, we will have Dr. William Becker, a psychiatrist with an expertise in child and adolescents, who is part of Psychiatric Consultants of Morris, provide a Psychopharmacology Update: Treatment of Pediatric Bipolar Disorders. His presentation will review differential diagnosis, typical medical strategies, challenges associated with medicating children diagnosed with bipolar disorder.
